Pakistan

Why Pakistan?

Well according to the Joshua Project, http://www.joshuaproject.net/, Pakistan has the world’s highest percentage of people who are “unreached” by the gospel, 96.7%! Amazingly enough, the Christian population in Pakistan continues to see growth(>5 million) despite the killing, oppression, and humiliation of its people. Our brothers and sister in Christ desperately need our help!!

Take occupation for an example. The cleaning of human waste and feces has become such a common job for Christians that Jeremy Sewall, Advocacy Director of the International Christian Concern, says “that’s what Christians are known for in Pakistan”. Or if you are a “lucky” Christian you could find yourself working as a slave in one of the 7000 brick kilns, which produce 65 billion bricks annually. Not to mention that while we are there helping to strengthen the Christian population that still leaves us with nearly 180,000,000 Muslims and Hindus that we can tell about Christ!!

Conditions like these, and many others, make the problem seem impossible but…..Jesus replied, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.” Luke 18:27. A complex problem like this requires a multifaceted solution that must begin with the gospel. These problems, although difficult, aren’t much different than the problems faced by the early church with two glaring exceptions. The first being, that God has given us their example to lead the way. We can find both strength and wisdom in the stories of the New Testament that will make this journey easier. However, it is the second difference that really sets us apart and that is today, as opposed to the first century, God has given the Christians of the world the resources to collectively help fix the problem. The only question He has now is……Will we??

People always ask me..“Why Pakistan?” So I’ll ask you..“Why not?
