"People don't give money because the church has needs. People give money when they see that the church meets needs."
Financial accountability information and guidelines:

The American Institute of Philanthropy lists two major categories when discussing their rating system for charities. The percentage of income that is spent on charitable purposes/programs and the cost involved to raise $100. You can review their guidelines here http://www.charitywatch.org/criteria.html.

In regards to percent spent on charitable purpose they have this to say “This is the portion of total expenses that is spent on charitable programs. In AIP’s view, 60% or greater is reasonable for most charities. The remaining percentage is spent on fundraising and general administration. Note: A 60% program percentage typically indicates a “satisfactory” or “C range” rating. Most highly efficient charities are able to spend 75% or more on programs.

Vertical World Solutions has spent over 86% on programs. –(through May 2011)

As for cost to raise $100 they had this to say “In AIP’s view, $35 or less to raise $100 is reasonable for most charities.”

Vertical World Solutions has spent less than $10 to raise $100. -(through May 2011)
